How We Quote and Invoice

Following initial contact from a potential customer, we arrange a site visit to allow us to prepare a quote.  Once all aspects of the job have been discussed, we usually prepare a fixed price quote for the work.  With the varying nature of most small farms, we prefer to look at each potential job before quoting, so that we can give the most competitive and accurate quote for the job that we can.  We can accommodate itemised quotes on request, however please be advised that the machinery and equipment being quoted on may vary from the original quote at our discretion.

There may be situations, particularly with sub-soil issues like rock, where we are unable to complete the works as quoted.  We may be able to complete the works with additional time and equipment (and therefore expense to you), or the proposed works may not be possible as planned.  Usually we do not know what is under the soil until we start digging.  If there are any major unforeseen problems that will incur additional expense, we will discuss the matter with you before proceeding.

Float and Travel Charges

Float and travel charges may be part of this quote.  Unless specified, this quote is based around us completing the job in the most efficient way possible for us.  If a job is split or paused at your request, a float / travel charges may apply for each visit. You will not be invoiced additional float / travel charges if a job is split or paused due to our requirements.

Machinery

Materials

If we source materials for you, unless specified in the estimate, we will bring them onsite as part of the quoted price.  You are welcome to source your own materials, however please be aware that we have relationships with our suppliers that ensure quality products are provided and we are familiar with these products.  When using materials supplied by you, there may be additional time involved, particularly when utilising used materials.

Additional Jobs

We often find that once onsite, a customer will ask us to perform some additional work.  We don’t mind at all, but please be aware that this falls outside of our original quote and may incur additional charges.

Invoicing Terms

We invoice on 14-day terms.  Please advise us prior to accepting a quote if this is not acceptable.

Infrastructure / Asset Damage and 'Dial before you dig'

Prior to commencement of work, you are required to inform us of any above or below ground infrastructure that you are aware of, that is not clearly visible during a site inspection.  We will request a ‘Dial before you dig’ report and will ensure we receive all aspects of the report prior to commencing work below the soil surface. We will comply with best practice during these works.

GRUNT Agriculture is not responsible for any infrastructure or asset damage where it was not clearly visible during a site inspection at job commencement, or its existence and location was not notified to us by yourself or the infrastructure owner (via ‘dial before you dig’).
